Game Summary
The Pirates pulled ahead of the Angels for good in the bottom of the 6th, putting up four to take a 6-3 lead on their way to a 6-4 win in a game that featured relatively strong pitching and defense before the offenses came to life in the sixth. Brandon LaMontagne provided the go ahead two-run double, with Nolan McKinnon (3 for 3 on the day) following by driving in all the insurance that was needed.
The Pirates held a tenuous 2-1 lead in the 6th when the Angels broke through to take the lead with 2 runs, taking advantage of a number of walks before Brandon LaMontagne took the mound and steadied the ship for the Pirates.
